Ember Habits and Streaks

Mobile App · Concept

A habit tracker built around the streak: the number that says how many days in a row you have kept something up. It is on every row in the list, and it is the biggest thing on the habit itself.

A design rather than a build: these are the screens as drawn, not captures of a running app.

Three screens carry the whole app: the list you open it for, the form that makes a habit, and the habit itself.

Three Ember screens: the habit list, the new habit form, and a habit with its streak and calendar
The list, the setup, the habit.

A row is a habit, how often it is due, and the streak. Nothing else. The streak is the only number that has to be readable at a glance.

The list, filtered to one category.

Categories sit above the list as chips, so narrowing it down never means leaving the screen you were reading.

Making a habit is one scroll: a name, a category, a colour, the days it repeats, how many times a day, a reminder, a goal. Create stays out of reach until it has a name.

The habit opens on its streak in a ring, then the months behind it, then the days themselves.

A day that was missed goes pale rather than red. The calendar is there to report, not to scold, and the button underneath is the only thing asking anything of you.
